Scouts Fabricate Composite Violin
February 24th, 2015 by Lou DorworthThe Utah chapter of SAMPE sponsored the Composites Merit badge at the Spring 2014 Pow Wow at BYU. Forty boys received their composites merit badge while assisting with a project to make a carbon fiber composite violin using resin infusion. They also made a long-board using a wood core and fiberglass prepreg. And finally each boy took home a carbon fiber key fob with the SAMPE logo which the scout groups had made.
